If you’re planning to replace your HVAC system, one important factor to consider is the quality of the warranty that comes with your new equipment. At SS&B Heating & Cooling, we’re proud to install Trane systems, known for their durability, efficiency, and some of the best warranties in the industry.

Why HVAC Warranties Matter

Trane offers robust warranty options, including Trane/Mitsubishi warranties. It’s crucial to know that failing to have your system installed or maintained by a licensed HVAC professional will void your warranty. Improper installation often results in system damage or failure.

At SS&B, we simplify this process for you by registering your new equipment for warranty coverage on your behalf, ensuring you enjoy maximum benefits without the hassle.

Here’s an overview of the three main types of warranties:

1. Trane Base Limited Warranty

This warranty applies to systems not registered within 60 days of installation. It covers parts that may fail due to manufacturer defects but does not include labor costs. Coverage typically lasts five years but may vary by product.

Coverage Highlights:

  • AC Units and Heat Pumps: Compressor, Outdoor Coil, Parts – 5 years
  • Furnaces: Parts – 5 years; Heat Exchanger – 20 years
  • Air Handlers: Indoor Coil and Parts – 5 years
  • Packaged Units: Compressor, Coils, Parts – 5 years; Heat Exchanger – 20 years
  • Cased and Uncased Coils: Coil and Parts – 5 years
  • Ductless Systems: Coverage varies

2. Trane Registered Limited Warranty

When your system is registered, the warranty period is extended significantly. Registration requires the product’s serial number, which we handle for you at SS&B Heating & Cooling.

Coverage Highlights:

Registered warranties also allow for transfer to a new homeowner within 90 days of a home sale, offering additional value if you move.

What’s Not Covered:
Labor costs, shipping fees for replacement parts, and damages caused by improper installation, third-party products, or Acts of God are excluded. Always review the warranty documentation for details.

3. Optional Extended Labor Warranty

For added peace of mind, SS&B Heating & Cooling offers extended warranties that cover labor and refrigerant for 5 to 10 years. Includes a lemon clause. This includes a complimentary one-year labor warranty to ensure proper installation, with additional coverage on select models for up to two years.

The Role of Maintenance

If you opt not to purchase an extended warranty, consider enrolling in our Comfort Club Maintenance Plan. This includes spring and fall tune-ups, discounted parts, and priority service during extreme weather. Regular maintenance ensures your system operates efficiently and lasts longer.

Even with a robust warranty, regular HVAC maintenance is vital. SS&B’s maintenance plans include spring and fall tune-ups, priority service during extreme weather, and 15% off parts and repairs for our maintenance agreement customers. Maintenance ensures your system operates efficiently and extends its lifespan.
